Milestones tward the true
Once upon a time a child dreamed to be a doctor who keeps people away from sickness Accepted in conventional medicine university ..enjoyed a self-learning curriculum but was surprised by few ideas were taught in the college and no professors could give the logical answer to my queries around those nonlogic ideas The graduation day was a victory but some puzzle areas were not yet solved in my mind I worked hard to please the residency program Working day and night with critical cases yet to be fully alert not to miss a diagnosis or mistaken management More queries and empty puzzles rooming in my mind Doctor need to work more than 76 hours a week while many of his work is intellectual dependent Can doctor do that with drunk brain Yes drunk brain ..because lack of night sleep cause same alcohol effects on human brain Can doctor give quality care or reach a proper diagnosis or notice a side effect if doctor to patients ratio is 1 per 1000 and the allowed patient time is counted by minutes.
Are we tackling signs and symptomatic in our diagnosis and treatment or going deeper into the root causes of the disease?
Are we reducing the number of diseases or a number of symptoms and signs?
Are we increasing our patient’s quality or life or just increasing our patients’ abilities to adapt to disease?
Why numbers and types of diseases are increasing in our society while we are increasing our health services?
Why the number of patients are increasing but the number of medical staff stays the same?
I bit All of the above queries are coming daily to any medical staff yet they don’t have time to answer it.
Simply because they are kept overburdened and busy with technician work Practical life shows you more unsolved puzzles.
As if I didn’t already have enough unsolved questions in mind during college time. Pathology textbooks and professors were proudly putting the term Idiopathic as one source of the disease. Pharmacology textbooks and professors were proudly putting side effects as a must-gift for every drug.
The true Test Came
When my kids were my patients
Now I have to be True to myself and a True Doctor who cares about True sustainable health not only shutting down symptoms.
